Automatic Daily Cleaning

The Leveluk K8 has two automatic cleaning systems that maintain the electrodes during normal device operation.

Kangen Refresh

~10 seconds

A short cleaning cycle that runs automatically after each use. It reverses electrode polarity to remove minor mineral deposits.

Auto-Cleaning

~30 seconds

A longer cleaning cycle that runs after extended periods of inactivity. Provides deeper electrode cleaning without user intervention.

Important: Automatic cleaning does not replace E-Cleaning. With hard water or intensive use, limescale builds up on the electrodes and requires chemical removal using E-Cleaner powder.

E-Cleaning — Step-by-Step Instructions

E-Cleaning is a deep electrode cleaning procedure using Enagic's special powder. Recommended every 1–2 weeks to remove calcium deposits from the electrodes. Duration: ~3 hours.

What you need: 370 ml water (for dilution) · Enagic powder × 2 sachets · Cleaning Tank · Cleaning Cartridge · Cap — hose plug (1 pc.)

⚠️ WARNING — before starting:
• Turn off the tap and stop all device functions
ALWAYS use 2 sachets of powder (not 1!)
• Use only original Enagic powder — other products may damage the device
• If powder gets into your eyes, rinse immediately with water
Do not use the water flowing out during the entire cleaning process

How to start E-Cleaning on the K8?
On the home screen, select "Setting" → then tap "E-Cleaning" → select "Yes". The procedure is displayed step by step on the device screen.

  1. 1

    Prepare the solution (E-cleaning 1)

Pour 2 sachets of powder into the Cleaning Tank, add 370 ml of water and mix thoroughly.

  2. 2

Insert the Cleaning Tank (E-cleaning 2)

Insert the prepared Cleaning Tank into the device. Make sure the tank is correctly recognised (the screen will show "Correct"). Put the tank lid on before inserting.

  3. 3

Replace the filter with the Cleaning Cartridge (E-cleaning 3)

Remove the water filter and insert the Cleaning Cartridge in its place. Use the filter handle to mount the cartridge.

  4. 4

Attach the cap to the hose (E-cleaning 4)

Attach the Cap to the grey secondary hose.

  5. 5

    Start cleaning (E-cleaning 5)

Press the "Start" button on the device screen to begin the cleaning process.

  6. 6

    Soaking (E-cleaning 6)

    ⏱ ~3 hours

  7. 7

Remove the cap from the hose (E-cleaning 7)

After soaking is complete, remove the Cap from the grey secondary hose.

  8. 8

Remove the cartridge, reinstall the filter (E-cleaning 8)

Remove the Cleaning Cartridge and reinstall the original water filter.

  9. 9

Replace the Cleaning Tank with the original (E-cleaning 9)

Remove the Cleaning Tank and reinstall the original tank.

  10. 10

    Rinse the device (E-cleaning 10)

Turn on the tap and run water through the device to rinse it. Do not use this water!

  11. 11

    Rinse countdown (E-cleaning 11)

The device counts down the rinsing time — 300 seconds (~5 minutes). Do not use the water flowing out during this time.

    ⏱ 300 seconds

  12. 12

    Completion (E-cleaning 12)

Turn off the tap. E-Cleaning complete! The device returns to the Kangen Water home screen.

After cleaning notes:
• Rinse the Cleaning Tank thoroughly with tap water, dry with a soft cloth and store in a dry place
• The cleaning powder contains citric acid — it is safe as a food additive, but do not drink water during cleaning
• Perform E-Cleaning every 1–2 weeks

Frequently Asked Questions — K8 Cleaning

How often should E-Cleaning be performed?
With soft water and normal use, every 1–2 weeks is recommended. With hard water (above 300 mg/l CaCO₃) — every week. If you notice a drop in the ORP of your Kangen water or reduced performance, that is a signal to clean sooner.
Where can I buy E-Cleaner powder for the K8?
E-Cleaner powder is available exclusively through authorised Enagic distributors. Contact us on 607 613 633 — we will send the powder by courier or you can collect it in person.
Can I use the ionizer during E-Cleaning?
No — during the entire E-Cleaning process (approx. 3 hours) the ionizer is unavailable for normal use. Plan the cleaning for a time when you do not need Kangen Water, e.g. overnight.
What happens if I don't clean the ionizer regularly?
Limescale deposits build up on the platinum-titanium electrodes and gradually reduce their effectiveness. This manifests as lower ORP in the water, poorer ionisation and in extreme cases — electrode damage. Regular cleaning protects your investment and extends the life of the device.
The K8 has a touchscreen — where exactly do I find E-Cleaning?
On the home screen, tap the settings icon at the bottom. Then select the "E-Cleaning" option and tap it to start the procedure. If you have trouble locating it, call us — we will walk you through it over the phone.
Is E-Cleaning covered by the Enagic warranty?
Yes — regularly performing E-Cleaning is a requirement for maintaining the full Enagic warranty. Lack of maintenance may be grounds for refusing a warranty repair in the event of electrode damage caused by limescale.
